Master Bedroom Furniture

Master bedroom furniture differs from youth furniture in both scale and design. Most master bedroom sets consist of five key pieces: beds, dressers, chests, night stands and mirrors. With most collections found at Bedroom Furniture USA, you can choose between varieties of dressers or add additional pieces such as an armoire. Most complete collections include one of each above piece.

Master Bedroom Furniture Elements
When choosing a bed for your master bedroom it is important to consider size. There are more mattress sizes than there are bed sizes, and this can be confusing. Mattresses come in Twin, Twin Extra Long (common at universities), Full (also known as a double), Queen, a standard (or Eastern) King and a California King. For a master bedroom, bed sizes are typically full/queen or kings.

Dressers and chests can vary from one collection to another. Some are drawer dressers, while others are a combination of both drawer and door dressers. Door dressers usually conceal several pull out trays. Chests are quite versatile. While some contain only drawers, others are designed to hold electronics such as televisions or computers. A lingerie chest has smaller compartments to hold undergarments and other small items. Armoires and wardrobes are also considered chests.

Night stands and mirrors are the last two elements of master bedroom furniture. The night stand is a small table with a drawer or two that stands by the side of the bed. It is customary to have at least one, sometimes two. A mirror usually completes the set and is generally placed above a dresser.
